QHVSG is committed to increasing awareness of the impacts of homicide and ultimately in helping to reduce violence within the community. In line with this commitment we make ourselves available to present at schools, sporting clubs and other community and health care organisations. A core focus of our presentations is One Punch Can Kill, a nationally recognised awareness campaign that targets a predominately male, youth market about the long term ramifications of reactive violence.
QHVSG also works closely with other government departments, community agencies and media outlets to support community education and provide information, both quantitative and qualitative, relating to the impacts of homicide on the broader community, as well as advocating for legislative changes on laws relating to acts of violence and victim support.
