WHAT WE DO
The Queensland Homicide Victims’ Support Group is an experienced organisation which provides a skilled team to offer support and advocacy to those who have been impacted by the homicide of a loved one, as well as awareness and education within the community. We recognize the significant value of connecting with qualified counsellors, as well as people with lived experience of homicide, and we understand the essential need for consistent support to cope with the trauma of being impacted by the murder or manslaughter of a loved one. Our qualified team offer a carefully considered case management approach to every situation, tailored to each person’s specific support needs. We work closely with the Department of Justice, the Office of the Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, Victim Assist Queensland, the Queensland Police Service, as well as various other services to ensure families have access to the help they need.
There are no fees involved for our services; however, we are a minimally-resourced charity - We would love to encourage you to get involved in supporting the work we do by volunteering, donating or fundraising for our QHVSG community.
